The main character, Aether, secretly admired his upperclassman, Xiao. However, when Xiao confessed his feelings for Aether, he rejected him. Xiao is talented. He had more than what meets the eye ahead of him. And Aether knew of this hence he chose to not ruin Xiao's reputation for they would have been involved in a controversial issue if both of them ended up together. Aether is a boy and so is Xiao. It is not normal for two of the same sex to be in a relationship, thus Aether gave up his love so that Xiao would have a normal life.
